Keeping my hands busy while recovering from surgery has been such a positive distraction, and I’m so happy to share these two handmade snuffle mats created for some very lucky pups. 🐾💕

One is bursting with rainbow colours 🌈 and the other is full of beautiful pink shades 💗. Every strip has been tied by hand with lots of love and care, creating plenty of sniffing fun and enrichment for their new owners.

Crafting has been a wonderful way to slow down, focus on healing, and do what I love. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Walkies with Wardy – your messages and encouragement mean so much 🧡

As temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that our dogs can’t cool themselves like we can. What feels warm to us can quickly become dangerous for them.

🌡️ Below 18°C – Low risk ✅
🌤️ 18–22°C – Use caution ⚠️
☀️ 23–26°C – High risk 🚨
🔥 Above 26°C – Too hot to walk ❌

Watch for signs of overheating:
🐾 Excessive panting
🐾 Lethargy or weakness
🐾 Vomiting or agitation
🐾 Bright red gums

💧 Always bring water
🌳 Stick to shaded routes
🌅 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🐾 Check the pavement temperature before heading out

Remember: if in doubt, don’t walk. Your dog relies on you to keep them safe ❤️

Last day of working before my surgery 🧡

I honestly don’t have the words for how grateful I am. The cards, messages, little gifts, check-ins, and all the love and support you’ve shown me over the last few weeks have meant everything.

Running my business has always been about more than just walking dogs — it’s about the amazing people and animals I get to meet and connect with every day, and this has reminded me just how lucky I am to have such thoughtful clients in my corner.

Thank you for your kindness, patience, encouragement, and well wishes as I head back to the UK this weekend. I’ll miss you all while I recover, but I’m looking forward to coming back rested, healed, and ready to see everyone again soon ✨
